Position Description: Assistant Educational Programs Coordinator
Work Hours: Part-Time – 20 hours/week
Salary Compensation: Open
Reports To: Educational Programs Coordinator
To assist with the organization, coordination, development, and execution of NAMI McHenry County and NAMI signature educational programs that are offered regularly and any required clerical duties.
Under the supervision of the Educational Programs Coordinator, assist with coordination of educational program activities for the affiliate, including the following but not limited to:

  • Work closely with the Educational Program Coordinator provide educational program support
    • Work closely with the Education Team
  • Assist with the development and execution of marketing plan
    • Create flyers for events, classes, and trainings
    • Post upcoming events and flyers on marketing sites
    • Assist with monitoring social media – Facebook inquiries, etc.
  • Assist with the coordination of Mental Health First Aid/QPR classes virtual and in-person
    • Coordinate trainings for Adult & Youth MHFA quarterly
    • Confirm instructors for trainings
    • Serve as MHFA On-Call person for classes with 30 participants
    • Make sure intstuctor stipend invoices are turned in on a timely basis
    • Monitor registration
    • Assist with the administration of surveys and certificates
    • Help set up in-person trainings
  • Assist with the coordination of Peer-to-Peer classes
    • Schedule/Coordinate Peer-to-Peer classes for NAMI MC 3 times a year
    • Confirm instructors for classes
    • Monitor registration
    • Make sure instructor stipend invoices are turned in on a timely basis
  • Assist with organizing and coordinating NAMI Talks
    • Attend NAMI Talk event (virtual or in-person) once every quarter
  • Facilitate NAMI Connection support group
  • Assist with checking website for updates
  • Assist with producing webinars, classes, and trainings
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and telephone etiquette
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Highly organized and goal-oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with limited supervision and in a crisis situation
  • Have a valid driver’s license with a certificate of automobile insurance
  • Maintain a professional office environment etiquette
  • Spanish Speaking is a plus
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate English
  • Ability to lift and/or move at least 10 pounds using proper body mechanics
  • Visual acuity to read a computer screen and other documents
  • Ability to utilize the telephone and respond to callers
  • Work a 20-hour workweek
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet program needs
