Description

This fun and engaging 8-week class is designed for puppies 6 months and younger to build a strong foundation for lifelong obedience and confidence! It’s the perfect first step in your puppy’s training journey and can also be used to earn their AKC STAR Puppy certification if you choose to pursue it. Throughout the course, you and your puppy will learn all the essentials—sit, down, stay, recall, place, and loose-leash walking—along with how to work around other puppies and distractions in a positive, encouraging environment. We’ll also cover important communication tools such as marker words and release commands, helping your puppy understand exactly what you’re asking for. You’ll learn to use luring and free shaping to teach new behaviors in a way that keeps training fun and builds your puppy’s confidence. This class moves at a slower, puppy-friendly pace, allowing plenty of time for socialization, focus work, and confidence-building exercises. By the end of the 8 weeks, you’ll have the knowledge to continue guiding your puppy toward becoming a well-mannered, happy, and attentive companion.
