Rose Pest Solutions to Host Ribbon Cutting and Open House at New Gurnee Office on Thursday, April 9 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Chicago, Ill. (April 6, 2026) -- Rose Pest Solutions, www.rosepestcontrol.com, is hosting an open house at its new Gurnee location on Thursday, April 9 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. where Rose’s president Curtis Rand will join Gurnee Mayor Thomas Hood to preside over a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening. The Gurnee location is at 4156 Old Grand Avenue, marking the 13th Rose Pest Solutions branch in the Midwest. Festivities will include games and a mosquito service raffle. The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
“The Gurnee location is not far from Rose’s Northfield headquarters where we’ve been for over 20 years,” said Curtis Rand, Rose’s President. “We know the area well because so many of our team members live and work here. Our Gurnee branch manager, Jenn Whiston, lives in Gurnee as does Izzy Reyes, both of whom were recently honored with awards for performance in 2025. We are excited to meet more people in the community and to help with their pest solutions.”
Rose is proud to be celebrating their grand opening of the Gurnee location during Earth Month and is committed to finding solutions that are not only eco-friendly but that solve problems at the root without overkill. They protect the environment, both indoors and out using non-polluting EPA-regulated professional products, tools, and methods that are safe for kids and pets, and everyone.
“April is also typically the start of mosquito season in Lake County when temperatures are consistently in the 50’s so our new Gurnee office is opening right on time,” Rand said. “It’s never too early to start planning for these annoying and often dangerous pests. It can’t be stressed too much that the female mosquito – the one that bites – is the most dangerous animal on the planet.”
One of the things residents can do as they plan on spending more time outdoors is to make sure there are no areas in their yards that may provide for mosquito breeding grounds. “All that’s needed is one plastic bottle capful of water to breed 100 mosquitos,” Rand said. “Be sure there’s no standing water in the yard. Think of bird baths, old tires that can hold water, buckets – anything like that is a female mosquito’s haven.”
Rose has deep roots in Illinois. The company was founded by Solomon Rose whose first customer was Illinois’ own Abe Lincoln who hired him to protect army soldiers from rats in the Civil War. While pest control methods have certainly evolved to become more environmentally conscious over the last 165 years, the family business legacy continues with integrity and service being the most important pillars in the company mission statement.
“Rose is proud of its work with the communities we serve. We cherish every relationship whether it’s one person, a family or any type of business like a restaurant or food storage facility,” Rand said. “We are here to help keep your family, home, pets sand businesses safe from pests.
