McHENRY COUNTY, Ill. — The Wildcat Community Solar Farm is nearing full subscription, with only a limited number of enrollment spots remaining before the project begins operations.

Eligible ComEd customers who enroll now can secure their share of the solar farm, receive ongoing savings on their electricity bills, and take advantage of a $100 sign-up bonus while space remains available.

Community solar allows homeowners, renters, nonprofits, and businesses to benefit from locally generated solar energy without installing solar panels on their property. Subscribers continue to receive electricity from ComEd as usual while earning credits on their utility bills from the energy produced by the solar farm.

"Community solar is one of the easiest ways for families and businesses to save money while supporting clean energy close to home," said a spokesperson for PureSky Energy. "With Wildcat approaching full subscription and moving closer to operation, now is the time for eligible customers to secure a spot before enrollment closes."

The growing demand for community solar reflects the increasing interest in practical energy-saving solutions that require no upfront investment or equipment installation. Once the project reaches full subscription, additional interested customers may need to join a waiting list until space becomes available.

Why Community Members Are Signing Up

  • Receive a $100 sign-up bonus
  • Save on monthly electricity costs
  • No solar panels or equipment required
  • No upfront costs to participate

  • Support locally generated renewable energy

Wildcat Community Solar is expected to begin serving subscribers soon, making this one of the final opportunities for eligible customers to lock in a subscription before the project becomes fully subscribed.

Residents and business owners interested in learning more or securing one of the remaining spots are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible.

About Community Solar

Community solar enables utility customers to subscribe to a local solar project and receive bill credits for the energy it produces. The program expands access to clean energy by making solar savings available to those who cannot install solar panels themselves, including renters, condo owners, and businesses.
