The McHenry Youth Fishing Derby hosted by K-Adams Foto is a FREE EVENT for kids, thanks to our many sponsors, including this years main sponsor, McHenry Outdoor Movie Theater.

Please make note of our event MAP (COMING SOON) on our event and information below for our event -- If you attended in the past, the check-in location has changed to encourage everyone to be safe and cross at the crosswalk. Use sidewalks and the trail as needed.

Feel free to bring your coolers with snacks and goodies and don't forget to bring chairs/blankets. This is a kids event, so please no alcohol. Parking will be in the grass lot behind Fort McHenry or in the neighborhood next to. There is no street parking. Try to car pool as much as possible to allow ample space for people to park. We will be fishing in the first 2 ponds (hopefully all 4 this year!). Fish are stocked in the first 2 thanks to McHenry Parks and Recreation Department. Bathrooms are marked. Their will be LRS potties by the ponds or the ones for Fort McHenry. Worms provided to those who pre-registered, thanks to Worldwide Travels. Feel free to bring extra (worms only), as needed, as well as all your fishing gear. We know how kids use bait, so plan according. Breakfast & refreshments provided thanks to Tails and Emails. Trophies will be awarded in 3 age categories; Ages 1-4 / 5-8 / 9-13 for: Smallest Fish \ Largest Fish thanks to Ritas Italian Ice - McHenry.
