Position Title: Marketing & Events Coordinator
Overview of Position: Senior Care Volunteer Network is seeking a creative and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about community engagement, storytelling, and event execution. The Marketing & Events Coordinator will lead our marketing efforts and plan engaging events that build awareness of SCVN’s mission, increase volunteer participation, and support fundraising goals. This position plays a key role in strengthening the organization’s visibility and impact across McHenry County and beyond. As SCVN grows, this role offers the opportunity for increased responsibility and professional growth in marketing, development, and organizational leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, including digital, print, and social media strategies.
- Maintain SCVN’s presence across all platforms, including managing content calendars and producing engaging content.
- Design branded materials including flyers, newsletters, social posts, and event collateral using tools like Canva or similar software.
- Plan and execute special events, including fundraising events and community outreach initiatives.
- Coordinate with team members, vendors, venues, and volunteers to ensure smooth execution of events.
- Support donor communications, campaign messaging, and public relations efforts.
- Monitor and report on key marketing metrics and event performance.
- Build relationships with community partners and media contacts to amplify SCVN’s reach.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and organizational goals.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support the mission of SCVN.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in nonprofit marketing, event planning, or community engagement.
- Proficiency in Canva, Meta Business Suite, Constant Contact, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with website platforms like WordPress/WPBakery is a plus.
This position is primarily based in an office environment during standard business hours. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required for events. Some flexibility for remote work may be available; however, regular in-office presence is expected to support team collaboration and event coordination. Local travel may also be necessary.
