Bear Family Restaurants (dba McDonald's) and Elgin Police Department are partnering to host their 5th Annual Slow Pitch Softball Charity Game on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Wintrust Field, Home of the Boomers. This event will raise funds to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI).

We started this event in 2019 to further our partnership with the Elgin Police Department and support the community. Each year we choose a different non-profit organization to support, and we are proud to have this years proceeds benefiting our local Ronald McDonald House chapter. Were excited to invite the community in to see a great game, have some fun, and support a great cause, said David Bear, president of Bear Family Restaurants. The McDonalds franchise organization operates 35 locations in the Chicagoland area in over 20 communities and proudly employs 1,700 team members.

We are so grateful for the partnership with Bear Family Restaurants. They exemplify McDonald's commitment to community service and engagement in so many ways. Their support enables our local RMHC chapter to care for 181 families every night through six area Ronald McDonald Houses and four Ronald McDonald Family Rooms so families can be close to the medical care and resources they need when their child is sick. The Charity also operates the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program, providing medical care to children in underserved areas. While at the softball game, attendees will also have the opportunity to tour one of our mobile care vehicles. It promises to be a great and impactful night thanks to the Bear Family Restaurants. said Ruth-Anne Renaud, Chief Marketing Officer of RMHC-CNI.

Schaumburg Police Department will also be joining the Elgin Police Department team on the field for the second year in a row, to join forces and put on a great game for the crowd to enjoy.

We look forward to an evening of fun, and what will surely be an entertaining softball game in an effort to show our support for RMHC, said Sergeant Demierre with the Elgin Police Department. This is also a great example of how successful we can be as a community when police and citizens work together for a greater cause. The community partnership built between the Elgin Police Department and the Bear Family Restaurants is one that has developed friendships not only within our organizations, but also within the Elgin community.

The event will once again be hosted and emceed from the field by Kenzie & Roman, co-creators / co-hosts of The MVP Game on Marquee Sports Network, hosts of the The ROMANce Podcast, and Marquee 2x Emmy Award Winners. Special Guest Ronald McDonald will also be joining them on the field to host the event, along with Hamburglar, Grimace, and more fun mascots!

The guests can get their hands on some great raffle items including an autographed Boomers jersey and bat, McDonald's Collectors Meal Cup Set, Police Chief for a Day with Elgin PD, Ride Along Experience with Schaumburg PD, and tickets to Chicago White Sox, Chicago Fire, Chicago Red Stars, Windy City Bulls, and more! The concession stands will be open and ready to serve all guests, as will Coop's Kids Corner, which features a playground with a bounce house and giant slide.

The charity softball game will be held at Wintrust Field on August 24th at 5:00pm. General admission tickets are $5 each and must be purchased online and 25-person suites are available as well for $150 each.
