McHenry, IL — The McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Jerry Eiserman as the recipient of its prestigious 2026 Frank E. Low Award, the Chamber’s highest honor. This award recognizes individuals who exemplify the spirit of Frank E. Low through a lifetime of selfless service, leadership, and dedication to the McHenry community.
Jerry Eiserman and his wife, Trish, made McHenry their home as they began careers in education—careers that would go on to touch generations of local families. Jerry taught physical education and coached at McHenry Junior High before transitioning to a mathematics teaching role at Parkland Junior High. His influence extended far beyond the classroom through decades of mentoring students and athletes.
In addition to his work in education, Jerry devoted fifty seasons to officiating basketball and football, earning the distinction of officiating multiple Illinois High School Association (IHSA) state championship games. He also supported community programs through seasonal work with the McHenry Parks Department and dedicated countless hours to service through his church, including helping provide backpacks and supplies for students in need.
Perhaps Jerry’s greatest legacy is his remarkable ability to connect with people. Known affectionately by generations of former students and athletes, it is nearly impossible for him to run an errand in McHenry without being greeted by someone whose life he has touched. His relationships—built on kindness, respect, and genuine care—are a testament to the impact one individual can have over a lifetime of service.
Jerry and Trish continue to reside in McHenry, where they recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. He remains deeply proud of his children, Jenny and Greg, and his seven grandchildren.
The McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce will honor Jerry at its Annual Gala on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake. This year’s theme, "Curated: A Night at the Museum," promises an evening of fun and celebration of a legacy defined by generosity, commitment, and lasting community impact.
