Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County is in need of high school mentors for our after-school programs in McHenry and Spring Grove. At our after-school program, "Bigs" are high school students that volunteer their time to mentor elementary or middle school aged children. Each program is held in a supervised setting. Programs are held one day a week for one hour after school. Bigs and Littles work on homework, talk, play games, do crafts and play outside. Volunteering is a great opportunity to give back, learn about yourself, and be a kid again. High school volunteers also receive volunteer hours and letters of recommendations for college applications. We are currently looking for high school students from McHenry, Richmond, or Johnsburg that are willing to volunteer at our after-school programs in Spring Grove or McHenry.
