The McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome Shelby Fairweather to our team as the new Administrative and Events Coordinator. In this part-time role, Shelby will take over social media and event coordination for the McHenry Riverwalk Shoppes, allowing Amy to focus on the participants of the retail incubator program and some new tourism initiatives in addition to new member recruitment. Shelby will also assist Molly with the Chamber’s signature events, and handle key administrative tasks at the Chamber to ensure smooth operations.

Shelby’s experience as a small business owner, as well as her diverse background in graphic design, retail management, and community engagement makes her an outstanding fit for this multifaceted position.  As a participant in the McHenry Riverwalk Shoppes retail incubator program, she gained valuable experience in retail operations and built strong connections within the local community. Combined with her entrepreneurial spirit and creative expertise, Shelby brings a fresh perspective and a passion for organization to her new role.  

The Chamber has experienced significant growth in recent years, introducing new initiatives and expanding its events to better support the local business community. To meet the growing demand for innovative programming and member engagement, the Chamber created this new position. Adding Shelby to the team not only ensures better support for our members and events but also allows existing Chamber staff to focus on strategic growth initiatives and expanding our impact in the community.

Outside of her professional work, Shelby enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time outdoors, and playing the piano. Her love for McHenry and its vibrant community continues to inspire her commitment to making a meaningful impact through her work with the Chamber.
